Estee Lauder Gift
David Jones is offering an excellent Estee Lauder gift with purchases over $75.
Value of gift - ranges from $94 to $102
Depending on the moisturiser chosen. The above value excludes the bag and the perfume sample.

7ml Repair serum - $10
On strawberrynet, they are approximately the same per mL. If you were buying it at David Jones though, Perfectionist>Advanced nigh repair > Idealist. Unless the gift is the advanced nigh repair concentrate, in which case that would be the dearest.
15mL moisturiser - $15 - $20
The full size is 50mL.The Hydration and day wear is with about $15, while the Timezone is worth $21.60 on strawberrynet prices. If you were buying on the counter, Timezone>Daywear>Hydration.
Lipstick -$11.50
Since I'm not sure what the size of the lipstick is, i've taken half the value of a full size Pure Colour.
Eyeshadow Quad - $30
Again, not sure about the amount of make up you're getting. But since an eyeshadow Quad costs about $30 and a single eyeshadow is around $20, I think $30 for 8 eyeshadow colours and 3 lip paletes seems reasonable.
Mascara -$13.30
The sample sizes by Estee Lauder is usually 2.8mL. The full sizes are usually around 6mL. Full size costs $28.50 on strawberrynet.
Makeup remover - $15
Assuming the make up removeris 100mL (half size) and the full size value is similar to other cleansers (this product isn't on strawberry net).
Perfume - size unknown.
sensuous - $0.86 per mL
Pleasures - $0.79 per mL
Beautiful - $1.10 per mL

Lancome Marie Claire
Recently there was a Lancome Marie Claire Event at David Jones on Elizabeth Street.
These was a similar event held in Myer, with Instyle magazine.
The event cost $45 to book and was redeemable on purchases made on the night
It was a fun night. The Lancome National Make up artist was there demonstrating all the new techniques of this season. Each table was set up with 5 chairs and 2 sets containing a Lancome Nu lipstick, Teint Idole foundation, Genifique, Hypnose mascara and a set of make up brushes, cotton pads, make up remover and such.
When you first walk in, you're handed a glass of Rosemount O, and set loose to socialise with the magazine reps, make up artists and fellow attendees. The catering was nice, nothing magical, but not too disappointing.
You're given a lancome gift pack with your purchase and a Marie Claire gift pack upon arrival.
Here are the things I bought, and a summary of the make up in the gift packs:
- Hypnose mascara pack, containing full size mascara (6.5mL), Bi-facil (30mL) and a concealer effacernes (5mL). This was worth a total of $45 if converted to full size value prices from Strawberrynet. I bought it for $57.
Gifts:
- Bi-facil (30mL) full size 125mL at $31. Worth $7.44
- genifique (7mL) full size 50mL at $114.50. Worth $16.03

The eyeshadow is apparently worth $39.99. The magazine costs $7.95.
There are 3 shades to choose from:
Smokey Eye and Island Fever are available as well as one of the more pink shades - perhaps purple? I can't recall.
Anyway, it's a pretty good deal.
Possibly better than the Mireness deal last week, but I'm biased because I like ModelCo in general.
